Malegaon: A total of 14 couples were married at Ijtemai Nikah, a mass wedding program, hosted by Jamiat Ahle Hadees Maharashtra at SM Khalil High School Ground in Malegaon on Sunday.

The mass wedding program, also known as the collective wedding ceremony, coincided with the marriage of the two sons of Hafiz Inayatullah Mohammadi, secretary general of Jamiat Ahle Hadees Maharashtra.

Hafiz Inayat said he decided to convert his sons’ wedding ceremony into a mass wedding program to help couples from the marginalized and economically weaker part of society.

“There are a lot of couples around us whose marriages are on hold for lack of funds and money. When I finalized the wedding of my sons, I thought it would become more memorable if it was converted into a mass wedding ceremony, ”said Hafiz Inayat, addressing the huge crowd gathered at the ceremony. the wedding ceremony.

“No dowry”

In addition to organizing the Dawat and Waleema for newlywed couples and their relatives, Hafiz Inayat also provided them with regular household items needed by only one family.

“Please don’t confuse these housewares with a dowry. The dowry is a harmful practice that is rampant in our society. It is a gift from me for the newlyweds on the occasion of their wedding, ”he said.

Although mass wedding ceremonies are not uncommon in Malegaon, it was the first such event organized by Jamiat Ahle Hadees Maharashtra – the organization led by Dr Saeed Faizee known for its charity and other wellness programs.
