Gujarat businessman adopts 300 girls, performs their Kanyadaan in mass wedding
In a heartwarming gesture, a businessman from Surat, Gujarat, organized a mass wedding where up to 300 women, including 103 who have lost their parents, from different communities in the state were married. The ceremony took place on December 4 and 5.
AAP leader and Sawani group chairman Mahesh Sawani made headlines for adopting orphaned girls and arranging their wedding ceremony. Each year he performs the ritual of marrying his adopted daughters in a mass marriage function and performing Kanyadaan for each of them.
The rituals were said to have taken place in accordance with the respective religious practices of the couples, for which priests from the Hindu, Muslim, Christian and Sikh communities were invited.

Mass wedding ceremony every year
The family of the businessman organizes the wedding ceremony with great fanfare every year. Rituals like Mehandi and Haldi were also performed in the presence of fellow Sawani. According to reports, he had invited AAP chief and Delhi deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia to honor the event.
