Happy FM marries couples in sparkling mass wedding
Ghana’s most illustrious and prominent mainstream radio station, Happy98.9 FM has syndicated four (4) couples for the 16th Happy FM Mass Wedding at Wan-Shi Gardens.
The Happy FM Mass Wedding is held annually on February 14; the month of love and the day of romance has become one of the nation’s glamorous events.
This year’s edition of Happy FM Mass Wedding saw four couples adorned in elegant Ghanaian prints from ATL exchange vows on hallowed ground.
The event was hosted by two of Happy98.9 FM’s silver tongue presenters and MCs, Rev. Nyansa Boakwa, host of Nsem Pii, and Princess Ekumfi; Mercy Bee.
The occasion was graced by high-profile guests including Global Media Alliance Group CEO, Ernest Boateng, Nima Division Commander; ACP Abraham Acquaye, retired FIFA referee; Thomas Nunoo, President of the Ghana Olympic Committee; Ben Nuuno Mensah, legendary Ghanaian highlife musician; Kofi Nti, Charles Osei Asibey, Secretary General of SWAG among several eminent personalities.
Speaking at the 16th Annual Happy FM Mass Wedding, Global Media Alliance (GMA) Group CEO Mr. Ernest Boateng congratulated the couples, reiterated the importance of marriage in the Ghanaian community and the value of the ceremony for the GMABC. Mark.
“Indeed, Love and Marriage is an institution no one should denigrate, and we at GMA and Happy FM are proud and honored to be a part of your happiness on this auspicious occasion. Happy FM’s first mass wedding was held in 2006 at the International Conference Center (AICC) in Accra. Since then we have held it every year and have entertained our guests with unforgettable receptions year after year. From time to time we have various formats to make it more exciting including renewal of vows. We have also offered all-expenses-paid trips to various overseas destinations to deserving couples selected by their peers. However, we have remained true to the reason we launched Happy FM Mass Wedding in the first place. We bring couples together and allow them to have a wedding fit for royalty with all the pomp and pageantry associated with glamorous weddings.This year we’ve made it more ex inclusive to reflect the realities of fighting the COVID-19 pandemic,” he said.
Mr. Ernest Boateng further mentioned the packages that were in place to ensure that couples get their marital journey off to a good start. Some of these included an investment portfolio for each couple with initial seed capital from EDC Investments Ltd, one-year life insurance with Hollard Life’s “Adepa Wo Fie” insurance plan and an HD+ decoder with a one-year free subscription from Ghana. sole provider of high-definition television services; HD+ Ghana. These, among other beneficial items, were donated to couples.
The officiating minister, Reverend Seth Baah Agyekum urged the newlyweds to bond well with each other. He advised husbands to take good care of their wives and wives to be the peace of their husbands.
The event culminated with an exciting refreshments section, where the couples showed off their dancing prowess to songs followed by event guests.
The occasion ended with a stellar performance by legendary Hiplife star Kofi Nti and the jams section for ‘looking singles’ to prepare for next year’s Happy FM Mass Wedding.
