Revealed! Why Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt Didn’t Plan a Destination Wedding
Bollywood stars Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor are all set to tie the knot this weekend and the paparazzi seem to be sparing no effort to extract an ounce of information regarding the star-studded wedding. Amid all the excitement, a Times of India report mentions that the wedding will take place at Bandra House in Ranbir, Vastu on April 15.
To avoid media stares ahead of her wedding, Alia is currently shooting in Panvel for her upcoming film Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani. The 29-year-old actress chose to stay in her bungalow on the outskirts of Mumbai. Alia owns a bungalow in Panvel called Shalia.
Many Bollywood celebrities have planned their weddings in exotic locations away from Mumbai to avoid the paparazzi. Last year, actors Vicky Kaushal and Katrina Kaif tied the knot in a destination wedding in Rajasthan. Before that, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh chose to get married in Italy. So the question arises, why didn’t Ranbir and Alia follow the same path? According to the Times of India report, at the end of 2020, Alia and Ranbir were planning a grand wedding abroad and at that time special wedding functions were also planned at Alia’s Panvel bungalow. But due to the pandemic and travel restrictions around the world, those plans did not materialize.
However, after a delay of almost two years, the couple finally decided to wed this week in an intimate affair. The low-key wedding will be attended by close friends and family members of the couple.
Last month, the couple wrapped filming their first movie together, Brahmastra Part 1. The couple wrapped filming in Varanasi as seen in Alia’s Instagram post. Brahmastra is directed by Ayan Mukerji and hits theaters on September 9.
