A country house in Swaledale has become the valley’s premier non-religious wedding venue.

Hazel Brow House in Low Row has been approved as one of North Yorkshire’s newest wedding venues.

The owners say the property has large rooms, open fireplaces, stunning views, and plenty of walks from the front door.

The award-winning venue can host wedding ceremonies and receptions for up to 50 guests.

It also offers facilities for corporate events and celebrations with five-star self-catering accommodation for up to 15 people.

Sir Gary Verity, Managing Director of Welcome to Yorkshire, said: “Hazel Brow House is a beautiful location with wonderful views over the Swaledale countryside – so it is a fantastic wedding venue.

“Yorkshire has an incredible variety of beautiful wedding venues with something to suit all tastes, providing even more reasons for people to come to the county and boost our economy.”

The house is owned by the Calvert family.

A major investment in the property in 2014 saw Hazel Brow House shortlisted for the 2015 White Rose Awards.

Fourth generation family member Ruth Calvert joined the family business earlier this year.

She says customer demand has fueled recent expansion and the addition of diversified services.

She added: “We have really enjoyed welcoming guests from Costa Rica to Finland, Australia to Canada and the United States, as well as people from counties in the United Kingdom.

“It’s great to be able to welcome visitors from such a global clientele and for such diverse events.

By working with local partners, Hazel Brow Farm Holidays and Hazel Brow Events can offer a wide range of activities, experiences and services from spa treatments to sheep races or murder mysteries or relaxing breaks to vacations. on foot or by bike.
